Westminster City Council commissioned Lake Market Research to conduct face to face interviews amongst residents and visitors in a number of streets across the borough of Westminster, including Soho, Pimlico, West End, Covent Garden, Mayfair, Marylebone and Paddington.
In order for businesses to reopen since the national lockdown and for customers to enjoy Westminster's establishments and outdoor areas safely, the council has created Hospitality Schemes. These schemes are present in over 60 streets and include changes to highways, licensing and amenities in the areas that host the majority of their hospitality industry. The survey focused on these temporary measures and the outdoor changes since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fieldwork took place during the last week of August, from Tuesday 25th to Sunday 30th. We surveyed a total of 600 respondents during this period all of which were very engaging, co-operative and provided valuable insight.
